The 'How' and 'Why'.

The inspiration to hold the Gila Gila Ganguro Fashion Market popped out from a book which we came across during a research on the Ganguro girls from Japan.
Read up on the picture book entitled Ganguro Girls, written and interviewed by Peter Feierabend.
These girls are dressed in kinky clothes of very contrasting colours, and they often hang out at the streets of Shibuya and Harajuku.
How cool is that!

Stay tune as we will continue posting the latest news about the Gila Gila Ganguro Fashion market here !

..............................a little teaser for you guys. :)

Ganguro (ガ ングロ)

So, why are the Ganguro Girls so attractive?

Neither a person nor a place, Ganguro is as an alternative fashion trend since the early 1990s with many young female followers to date. According to my sources, they are usually in their 20s with tanned skin and eccentric makeup to scream. If you have been to either Shibuya or Ikebukuro districts of Tokyo, you'll see lots of them here.

Eccentric is the buzz word

A deep tan is combined with hair dyed in shades of orange, or a silver grey known as "high bleached". Black ink is used as eye-liner and white concealer to replace the usual lipstick and eyeshadow. False eyelashes, plastic facial gems and pearl powder are often must-have accessories for the Ganguro Girls. The G look is then completed with 12-inch platform shoes and striking outfits. Some other accessories include tie-dyed sarongs, miniskirts, stickers on the face, and lots of bracelets, rings, and necklaces.

A typical Ganguro carries some or all of these personality traits:

>Rebellious
>Expressive
>Loud
>Youthful
>Care-free
>Bold
>Open-minded
>Loves to party
